Dr. Rachel R. Peters

Dr. Rachel Peters grew up on a crop farm in Beecher, IL. From a very young age, she had an interest in veterinary medicine, and spent many summers outside with her dogs and cats on the farm. She began volunteering at her local veterinary clinic in middle school, and it is there that she developed her passion for veterinary medicine.

Dr. Peters attended Ball State University in Muncie, IN for her undergraduate studies and received a degree in Biology with a concentration in Zoology and a minor in Chemistry in 2017. She then went on to attend the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in Columbia, MO and graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2021.

Dr. Peters loves many things about being a veterinarian, but has a special interest in soft tissue surgery. She also enjoys appointments and seeing a wide variety of cases, clients, and pets. Helping out stray or rescued animals is something near and dear to her heart, as well. Dr. Peters enjoyed working with and treating raptors (hawks, owls, eagles) during veterinary school and hopes to continue that one day!

Outside of work, Dr. Peters enjoys hiking and spending time with friends, family, and her pets. She has two dogs- Whitley the Golden Retriever and Scout the Australian Shepherd. Dr. Peters also has six cats- Chip, Misty, Addy, Olive, Ozzy, and Ron that she loves dearly – even if they are troublemakers at times!
