During office hours, we are fully equipped and ready to help with all of your emergency and critical care needs. If it is necessary for your pet to be admitted to our hospital for treatment, we will provide everything needed for her comfort and care. We have leashes, bowls, and blankets here. The entire hospital is climate-controlled, for your pets’ comfort.
We believe the best way to speed up the healing process is for a pet to spend time with their owner. Ask your pet’s veterinarian if visitation would be advisable during her stay. In some circumstances it is not ideal for your pet to have visitors-but in general we not only allow visitation, but encourage it for its therapeutic value.
The doctors at Michigan Road Animal Hospital are well equipped and experienced at caring for your pet in an emergency. If your pet is experiencing an emergency, contact us immediately and bring your pet in. What classifies as an emergency?
- Breathing difficulties
- Bleeding that won’t stop
- Hives & swelling (especially around the face/neck)
- Bloating (hard/distended abdomen)
- Difficult elimination
- Uncontrolled vomiting
- Poison/toxin ingestion
- Prolonged seizures
- Sudden disorientation or unsteadiness
If you find that you need emergency assistance after hours, we recommend Airport Animal Emergi-Center or MedVet. They are available when we are closed and we trust them for quality care! In the event you have to visit the emergency clinic we can get the records so we can follow up if your pet needs further care.
